James Paul Nesselhuf

May 11, 1945 — June 30, 2014

James Paul “Jim” Nesselhuf, 69, passed away on June 30, 2014 at his La Junta home. He was born on May 11, 1945 to Harry & Kittie (Tovatt) Nesselhuf in Rocky Ford. He married Carolyn F. Holmes on September 3, 1988 in La Junta.
 
Jim served in the United States Army from January 1966 until January 1969. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 33 years as a letter carrier.  Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding motorcycles and enjoying volunteering at the Arkansas Valley Regional Nursing Care Center West. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. 


He is survived by his wife, Carolyn of the La Junta home; son, Brian (Junko) Holmes of Portland, Texas; sister, Kittie (Chuck) Harris of Grapevine, Texas; grandchildren, Luke & Leah Holmes; brother-in-laws, Terry (Becky) Holmes, Robert (Laurie) Holmes; several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Daniel Nesselhuf and niece, Jennifer Holmes and special friend, John Miller.
  
In lieu of flowers those wishing to do so may make memorial contributions to the First Church of the Nazarene or to the Arkansas Valley Hospice, PO Box 408, La Junta, CO, 81050 direct or through the funeral home.
 
 
  
 

A gathering for family & friends will be Monday, July 7, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
