Jennie Lee was born November 22, 1931, and was raised in La Junta, Colorado. She graduated from La Junta High School in the class of 1950, (and later she enjoyed planning and hosting many class reunions). After she married Sam Petramala, they moved to Aurora, Colorado where Jennie was a homemaker taking care of her children as well as babysitting others. She enjoyed raising her children and the foster children, which was a big part of her life. She returned to La Junta and was employed by Montgomery Wards and later managed the Best Western Stagecoach Motel. In the late 70s with her husband Sam and daughter Vicki, they owned and operated Sam’s Café in La Junta CO until the mid-80’s. She retired as the Credit Manager for McKenzie’s Furniture Store where she was employed for 13 years. In 1995, she married her beloved Bob Walter of La Junta Colorado and they lived in her La Junta residence. Jennie Lee had a great Love for Jesus Christ and shared the “Prayer of Salvation” with family, friends and acquaintances throughout her life. She was passionate about the Lord's love for humankind and how He had blessed her all her life.

She was a member of the Southern Baptist Church in La Junta Colorado where she and her sister Hazel Kay had honored God by decorating the alter monthly for many years. At the time of her death, she was attending the First Church of God in La Junta Colorado. Jennie Lee and Hazel Kay were fondly known as “The Sisters” who enjoyed color matching/dressing alike; a tradition initiated by their parents in their later years of life. The Sisters also enjoyed showing off their mother’s wonderful hats, having them safely kept in Jennie’s “hat room” in her home. Jennie Lee also cherished and loved her “antiques.” She furnished her home with many family heirlooms and antique furniture. This extended to her yard where she and her sister kept the yard in antique yard art and flowers.
