Jenny Mascarenas

Jenny Mascareñas, 87, passed away July 3, 2015 in Englewood, CO. She was born, Jenny Reyna in Vroman, Colorado on June 24, 1928 to Joe & Felicitas (Campos) Reyna. Jenny is preceded in death by her sister Santos Salas, brothers Marcelino Reyna, and Leo Reyna.


Jenny forged her own path waiting to get married and start a family. She graduated high school and attended Brown’s Business College. Shortly after graduation, she was employed at the sheriff’s office ultimately finishing a long career at the County Assessor’s office.


Jenny married Virgil Mascareñas on February 2, 1963. Family was important to Jenny. She made sure the house was always filled with love, support, and good food. She enjoyed traveling, walks with Virgil and taking care of the house and yard. Jenny especially loved visits from her two grandchildren, Terran & Tanner. She will be missed every day by those who knew and loved her.


Jenny is survived by her husband Virgil Mascareñas, two sons Mark Mascareñas (Leslie), & Paul Mascareñas and her two grandchildren Terran Mascareñas & Tanner Mascareñas and numerous nieces and nephews.


In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a local hospice program.


Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.


Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Friday, July 10, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Both services at Our Lady of our Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish with Father Kenneth Oguzie officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
