Jerry Brittain

January 30, 1957 — August 15, 2023

Jerry Brittain was born January 30th, 1957, to Russell Brittain and Betty Lou Brittain (Ringle) in La Junta, Co. Where he was the second youngest of eight brothers and sisters.


Jerry attended La Junta High School and upon graduating Jerry attended Washington trade school for auto mechanics in Tacoma Washington.


Jerry then married carol (Roberson) Brittain and was married for 30+ years and

together had 2 children Brandon Brittain and Tiffany Miller (Brittain).


Jerry worked many jobs throughout his lifetime to include Carrica soft water, Neoplan, Kaiser Aerospace product, Dean Foods and would later retire from the State of Colorado Department of Corrections.


Jerry had a passion for fixing and tinkering with old cars and bringing them back to life. He spent years working on old MG cars Jerry finally accomplished completing his first MG and eagerly started working on a second one. Jerry enjoyed cruising his completed MG around with the top down with pride in his accomplishment. Jerry's other passions included spending time with his children and grandchildren, as well as putting his boat in the water and spending all day fishing, He also enjoyed working on derby cars and was known to many as the Candy Man as he would always be seen with pockets full of candy and a cup of coffee in his hand.


Jerry departed this world August 15, 2023 doing the things he loved to do. He was supported and loved through the end by his girlfriend Linda who was always by his side.


Jerry will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Glen Brittain. Jerry is survived by his son, Brandon (Kerri) Brittain of Thornton, CO, their kids, Kurtis Romero of Rockford, Drew Romero of Washington DC, and Sidney Romero of Thornton; his daughter, Tiffany (Gary) Miller of La Junta; grandkids, Brittany, Ethan, Eli Miller of La Junta; brothers, Sam (Jeannie) of La Junta, and Danny (Sherri) of Washington, Tim (Becky) of Oklahoma; sisters, Ellen Duncan of Texas, and Carol (Mark) Peila of Washington; and brother, Kirk Brittain of Oklahoma; as well as several Nieces and Nephews.


Friends and family are invited to share memories & celebrate Jerry’s life on Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at La Junta City Park main gazebo.


Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
