Jessica M. Pearson-Maldonado, 24, of La Junta, passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 4, 2011 near Timpas, Colorado.  She was born April 20, 1987, in Gunnison, CO to Herb K. & Tina (Kreiner) Pearson.  Jessica graduated from Trinidad High School in 2005.  Jessica worked as a secretary and a clerk.  She loved her family especially her children and will be greatly missed.

Daniel Reymond Maldonado, 6, of La Junta, passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 4, 2011 near Timpas, Colorado. He was born September 24, 2005, in Pueblo, Colorado to Daniel Maldonado & Jessica Pearson. Daniel was a Kindergartner at Eckhart Elementary in Trinidad, CO. He loved to be outdoors and playing video games.

Jessica is survived by her children, Joseph Rey, Hope Destiny-Marie, & Layla Reyal; parents, Herb & Tina Pearson of La Junta; sisters, Janna (Richi) Romero of Fowler and Joy Robles of La Junta; grandparents, Gary & Jan Pearson of Silver Cliff, CO, and Chuck & Carolyn Kreiner of Arvada, CO; great-grandmother, Marie Kreiner of Otsego, MN; Aunts, Tracy (Kyle) Schiedeman, Charlotte Vallas, Vickie Butler, Valerie Pariseau, & Dawn (Kyle) Bell; uncle, Chuck (Linda) Kreiner; niece, Faith & nephew Taven, and 12 cousins survive.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Art & Thelma Pearson, Clarence & Mary Kohl, Charles Kreiner, Charles & Minnie Hartung; grandmother, Janice Kreiner, and cousin Jessica Kreiner.

A celebration of life service for Jessica and Daniel will be Saturday, October, 22, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church with Reverend Ron Skorick officiating.

Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.


A memorial fund has been established for Jessica's children at U.S. Bank. Contributions may be made direct or through Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home.
