Jose “Joe” Guerrero, 79, passed away on February 22, 2017 at his La Junta home.
Joe was born on January 2, 1938 in La Junta, Colorado to Salvador & Estefana (Ramirez) Guerrero. He worked for many years at Otero Junior College. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Catalina of the LA Junta home; children, Chris Guerrero of Denver; Felicia Reid Guerrero of Baltimore, MD; Andrew (Tina) Guerrero of Denver; Salvador (Patricia) Guerrero of Denver; Steven (Pamela) Guerrero of La Junta; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Estachio “Tacho” (Maria) Guerrero of Denver; Vera Whatley of Colorado Springs; Alexandra Cruz of La Junta; Benito (Louise) Guerrero of Denver; Paz Mondragon of Thornton, CO; Charles (Linda) Guerrero of Denver; and Andrea Salinas of Ft. Lupton, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Vincent Guerrero and his sister, Felisa Leyba.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. both services at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish with Father Henry Wertin officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 28, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
