John E. Smith

John Edward Smith, 72, passed away January 27, 2014 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Nursing Care Center. He was born on February 25, 1941 in Isle, Minnesota to Harry Oscar & Violet Harriett (Anderson) Smith.


John worked on Cecil King’s farm for 18 years.


He is survived by his two sisters, Louise Duchane of Atkins, MN, and Diana May Weiter of Onamia, MN; and his niece, Kimberly Dickerson of Westminster, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents.


Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.


Memorial service will be Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the First Southern Baptist Church in La Junta with Wayne Cathey officiating.
