John Louis Miera, Jr., 55, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on April 18, 2017 at his mother’s home in La Junta. He was born on November 19, 1961 in La Junta to John Louis & Cecilia (Carrillo) Miera.
He attended La Junta High School and graduated with the class of 1980. He was a long haul truck driver most of his adult life and most recently was a maintenance worker for McDonald’s Corporation in Amarillo. He enjoyed playing bingo, scratching lottery tickets, and going to casinos. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his mother, Cecilia Miera of La Junta; children, Diane (Frankie Lovato) Mendez of Rocky Ford; Jonathan (Chelsea Cabello) Miera of Midland, TX; Jessica (Paul) Sandoval of Amarillo, TX; sisters, Christine Rael of La Junta; Kathryn (George) Rivera of Pueblo; grandchildren, Donavin Baca, Janiah Miera, Arcianna Cabello and Ean Sandoval; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces & nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his father, John L. Miera and brother, Mark Miera.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m. both services at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish with Father Henry Wertin officiating.
