John Robert Milenski

John Robert Milenski, 71, of La Junta, passed away on October 16, 2022, in Rocky Ford.

He was born on April 17, 1951, in La Junta to Victor Edward & Margaret Moneta (Stephenson) Milenski.

John never met a stranger. It was common to run into him out and about and be greeted with, “How the hell are ya?” He loved seeing people he knew and remembered from clear back to his youth. He dearly loved his son and grandson above all else. He was the happiest in his life when he felt useful and working. His careers included heavy equipment operator, long haul truck driver, and just before his retirement he worked for Renzenberger as a driver. The Milenski family is a large fixture here in the Arkansas Valley and John will be dearly missed, leaving a sorrowful hole in our hearts.

He is survived by his children, Scott (Helen) Milenski of Santa Fe, NM; Kelly Taylor of La Junta; grandchildren, Bradford Milenski of Santa Fe, NM; Kaidin Liming of Santa Fe, NM; Elenor Wiuff of Los Alamos, NM; Koryn Condit, Devon & Shawn Taylor all of Colorado Springs; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Ann (Garry) Thimgan of Mauldin, SC; Jim Milenski of Rocky Ford; Mary (Michael) Williams of Castle Rock; Ward (Cyndi) Milenski of Jackson, TN; Nancy (Ron) Thomas of Colorado Springs; sister-in-law, Sandy Milenski of Las Animas; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Stephen Milenski.

As per John’s request cremation has taken place and no services at this time.
