Jose Herman Trujillo, Sr., 68, of La Junta, passed away unexpectedly on June 23, 2013 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center. He was born March 5, 1945, in Swink, Colorado to Roque & Manclovia Trujillo.
Herman worked nine years at the COOP in Cheraw before becoming disabled. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and visiting his friends and family. He also enjoyed reading books and watching sports and enjoying life to the fullest.
Herman is survived by his wife, Judy of 48 years; children, Pamela (Jerry) Trujillo-Geis of Colorado Springs; Jose Herman Trujillo, Jr., of La Junta; Patricia (Mario) Mena of Greeley, CO; Daniel Trujillo of Colorado Springs; and special family friend Ashley Nettik of Rocky Ford; grandchildren, Eric Trujillo, Stephanie Trujillo, Ricky Quackenbush, Kendra Trujillo, Abel Trujillo, Marjetta Wilcox, LeAnna Trujillo, Destinie Trujillo, Dezire Trujillo, Ashley Trujillo, Daniel Trujillo, Jr., and Mario Mena, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Zoe Moran & Steven Trujillo; siblings, Theresa Cordova, Ernie (Elaine) Trujillo, Rocky (Lydia) Trujillo, Jess (Ed) Trujillo, David (Judy) Trujillo, Carol Trujillo, and Rosie (Joe) Rico; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Johnny, Michael, Frank and Tino.
Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Graveside services will be Friday, June 28, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery with Father Alphonsus Ihuoma officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, June 27, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home.
