Jose Richard Vigil

Jose Richard Vigil , passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2014 in Pueblo, Colorado. Richard was born April 27, 1937 to Gil and Sally Vigil in Kim, Colorado.


Richard served in the Marines from November 1955-1958 and did a tour in Japan.


Richard loved to spend time with his family and friends and was an avid hunter and fisherman.


Richard is survived by son Robert Vigil; daughter Michelle (Frank) Barela; grandchildren, Dana, Anthony, Frank Jr and Moriah; and four great-grandchildren, Anthony Jr, Ahilina, Adrian, and Isiah. Brother, Onesimo (Helga) Vigil; Sisters, Helen McMillan, Susanna Vigil and Hazel Vigil- Molyneux. Richard was preceded in death by his parents Gil and Sally Vigil and brothers Gene Vigil and Jose Orlando Vigil.


The family will have a gathering for family and friends following the burial at the Senior Citizen Center in La Junta, Co. 81050


In lieu of flowers memorial donation may be made to the American Cancer Society


Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home and Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.




Funeral services will be held on August 29, 2014 at Peacock Memorial Chapel at 10:00 am with Pastor Paul Simon officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be August 28, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel in La Junta, Co.
