Justine Sabin Lloyd was born to Charles Earl Sabin and Elizabeth Rourke Sabin on March 8, 1915, same birthdate of twin sons, Stephen Vaughn Lloyd and John Charles Lloyd born to her and John William Lloyd, March 8, 1950. Justine was also the mother of William Sabin Lloyd, born to her and John on Nov. 5, 1947. Their first child, daughter Linda, died in early childhood. Justine passed away on the July 9, 2O13.

Justine attended La Junta, Colo. schools, was always a top student and graduated second in her class from high school. She attended the University of Colorado where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority, receiving her BA. in 1938.

Justine and John Lloyd, who had moved to La Junta from Kansas, were married in a garden wedding at her parent's home in 1940. Justine lived in Denver near John's parents whii1e John served as a bombardier/navigator on thirty B-17 missions over Germany. Upon 1st Lieutenant John's discharge from the Army Air Corps, John and Justine returned to La Junta where John opened a jewelry store. Justine served as a high school librarian for a number of years.

In 1969, John closed the store and moved to Houston where he worked in jewelry manufacturing. Though she and John always missed friends and especially family in La Junta, she loved Houston and life in the warm climate. She joined the Pi Beta Phi Alumni Club, worked at the Pi Phi shop in Houston and gave service to the Pi Phi Children's Library at Texas Children's Hospital and also M.D. Anderson Children's Library. She was also a member of PEO, chapter DF, in Houston, and served a term as president.

John passed away in 1999. In 2000, Justine moved to The Forum Retirement Home in Houston where she lived for her remaining years.
She is survived by her three sons, William of Deer Park, Texas, Stephen of Lakewood, Cob., and Dr. John (Cindy) of Hays, Kan.; three grandchildren, Lesley Lloyd, Andrew Lloyd, and Michael Lloyd; and two great-grandchildren, Addison Baumgardner and Aidyn Bontrager.

The family extends their gratitude to the staff of The Forum and Odyssey Hospice for their years of loving care to Justine. 

In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of one's choice.

A memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday, October 12, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Deacon Doug Manley officiating. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
