Ladislao R. Gonzales, 89, of La Junta passed away on March 4, 2017 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Nursing Care Center in La Junta. He was born on November 10, 1927 in Rocky Ford to Ladislao & Tomaca (Renteria) Gonzales. He married Mary Annie Gonzales who preceded him in death several years ago and then married Mercedes Salcedo on May 23, 1981 in Rocky Ford; she preceded him in death on January 2, 2004.
Ladislao enjoyed having family and friends come to his home for pray sessions. He liked to read from his Bible, sing, and play the piano and guitar. He liked to go to Quickee’s to eat pizza and play the Colorado Lotto. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his son, Lawrence (Connie) Gonzales of Rocky Ford; grandson, Lawrence Richard Gonzales of Rocky Ford; sisters, Socorro (Roy) Lopez of Rocky Ford and Sister Enriqueta Galvan of Salem, Oregon; sister-in-law, Mary Galvin of Rocky Ford; numerous nieces & nephews also survive. He is preceded in death by his parents, wives, brother, Eliseo on April 17, 2014.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Father Juan Hinitrosa officiating. Visitation will be prior from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in La Junta.
