Lala Sanchez

Lala Sanchez, 92, of La Junta went home to be with the Lord on February 5, 2014 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center. She was born on February 2, 1922 to Juan & Isabel (Rosales) Urrea in La Junta.


Lala enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and friends, she enjoyed going to church and participating in church functions. Lala had a big heart and was always helping others. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She also was an original Harvey Girl.


She is survived by her sons, Frank (Sandra) Sanchez of Greeley, CO; Vincent (Christina) Sanchez of Denver, CO; and Edward Sanchez of La Junta; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Froilan (Molly) Rosales and sister, Natividad Hernandez. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Francisco Sanchez; daughter, Arlene Sanchez and brothers & sisters.

Memorial Mass will be Monday, February 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish with Father Matthew Wertin officiating. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in La Junta.
