Linda G. Ward

Linda G. Ward, 64, passed away on August 29, 2018 at her Rocky Ford home. She was born on April 3, 1954 in La Junta to Donald F. & Doris P. (Poage) Wilson. She married Thomas G. Ward on March 14, 1981 in San Jose, California; he preceded her in death on July 19, 2008.

Linda was raised in Fowler. In her later years she became a substitute teacher where she taught in Swink and Rocky Ford for several years, enjoying teaching and the kids she taught.

A faithful Christian, Linda was very active in the Valley Community Church where she taught Sunday school, teaching at the Awanas Club, and involved with the seeds of hope and was an active member of the Praise Team. She enjoyed being a real estate agent because she loved the people and being invested in their lives and future. She loved spending time with her family and friends and grandchildren. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughters, Heather (Ben) Johnson of Rocky Ford; Jennifer (Kyle) Scofield of La Junta; mother, Doris P. Wilson; grandchildren, Joshua, Jeremy and Jayden Johnson; Elijah and Colton Scofield; siblings, Jim Wilson of Rocky Ford; Donna (Larry) Johnson of Rye, CO; two nieces & one nephew also survive. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald F. Wilson and her husband.

A celebration of Linda’s life will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., at the Valley Community Church with Kurt England officiating.
