Lloyd M. Hall

December 27, 1918 — January 1, 2016

Lloyd M. Hall was a beloved husband,
father, “Poppo,” friend, mentor and hero to many aspiring cowboys and cowgirls.

Lloyd was born December 27, 1918 and went to gather cattle for his Lord on January 1, 2016.  He lived all of his 97 years on
the ranch where he was born in Delhi, CO to Charlie E. and Laura Hall.

Lloyd attended grade schools provided
by homesteaders and Junior High and High School in Thatcher and Trinidad.  He attended college at Colorado Agricultural
College in Fort Collins, CO.  Lloyd’s
love of horses began as soon as he could walk.

snow and mowing lawns in Trinidad.  This
was the beginning of his life long ranching career which he was blessed to live
the life he loved.  Lloyd worked several
years at La Junta Livestock and the R P Lewis where he mouthed and showed
horses to make ends meet. He broke and traded horses to provide for his family
and continue the ranching life that he loved.

On August 9th, 1941, Lloyd married
the love of his life, Edith A. Walter and they raised four children, along with
many other boys that stayed with them from time to time.  In 1949, Lloyd and Edith moved into their home
closer to the highway, where they enjoyed 74 years of marriage. Lloyd was a
talented musician who played in some local bands, such as the Canyon Cowboys
and the Sunflower Valley Boys.  Later in
life, he spent many hours playing guitar and singing for residents in nursing
homes all over the Arkansas Valley.
