Lloyd Ross Labrier, 83, passed away on August 31, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at his La Junta home. He was born on October 25, 1934 in Boise City, Oklahoma to Wesley & Roselind (Jones) Labrier.
Lloyd graduated high school in Clayton, New Mexico in 1952. He then worked as a Ranch Hand from 1954 – 1962. Starting in 1962, he then worked as a Brand Inspector for the state of Colorado for over 30 years, making many ranching friends throughout his wonderful life. Lloyd married Darlene Heeren in Taos, New Mexico in November of 1954 and have enjoyed 64 beautiful years of marriage. Lloyd loved his family very much. He enjoyed spending time with them every chance he got. Having many friends, and having a great sense of humor, he was known to tease people fairly often. Lloyd was truly one of a kind and will be greatly missed by all.
He is survived by his wife Darlene Labrier of the La Junta home; children, Wes (Sue) Labrier of Union Center, SD; Kim (Mike) Stricker of La Junta; and Laurie (Norman) Marshall of Tucumcari, NM; sisters in-law, Norma Beamer of Eaton, CO; Judi (Nick) Mousel of Kit Carson, CO; and Kathy Fasone of North Platte, NE; brother in-law, Elvin (Red) McKenzie of Delta, CO; grandchildren, Cammie (Dan) Freed of Granby, CO; Shane Labrier of Belle Fourche, SD; Holly (Bobby) Langford of Amarillo, TX; Ty (Lesley) Marshall of Rosston, TX; Amber (Reed) Cammack of Enning, SD; Sarah (Derek) Parker of Amarillo, TX; Brooke (Jon) Schwaderer of Gurley, NE; Jake (Danielle) Marshall of Tucumcari, NM; Kayla (Jared) Jorstad of Alberta, Canada; and Ashley (Joel) Fisher of Prospect, VA; 21 great-grandchildren; along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and many great friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Junior Labrier and Russell Labrier.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Brandon Mills and Pastor Gale Allen officiating. Interment will be Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers those wishing to do so may make memorial contributions to Sangre De Cristo Hospice at www.socohospice.org direct or through the funeral home or to a charity of choice.
