It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Luis Carlos Munoz, a beloved member of the Otero County community. Luis was born on August 8, 1954, in Chihuahua, Mexico, to his loving parents Venicio & Teofila Munoz.
Throughout his life, Luis dedicated himself to the art of bartending, becoming a familiar and cherished face to many in Otero County. His skills behind the bar were matched only by his warm demeanor and ability to make everyone feel welcome.
On July 9, 2024, Luis Carlos Munoz passed away in La Junta, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and generosity. He is survived by his devoted wife Wendi of the La Junta home, his daughter Jessica (Matthew) Gonzales, his son Nathan Dominguez, his goddaughter Rebecca, and his grandson Kevin. Additionally, he is survived by six brothers and sisters who will always cherish his memory.
Luis will be remembered for the love and care he showed towards his family and friends. His absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
May he rest in peace.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Friday, July 19, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. followed by the Memorial Mass at 2:00 p.m. Both services at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish with Father Joseph Matitu officiating. Inurnment will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery in La Junta.
