Margaret "Marg" L. Conroe

Margaret L. “Marg” Conroe, 81, of Salida passed away Friday, September 2, 2011 at the Columbine Manor in Salida. She was born January 10, 1930 in La Junta, Colorado to Richard & Elsie (Tolten) Conroe.
After graduating high school, she got her teaching degree from Greeley State Teachers College in 1952 and taught physical education classes in Tehachapi, California; Bend, Oregon; and Olathe, Kansas before she retired.

Marg moved to Salida in 1995 to be closer to her cousin Garth Conroe and his family. She was known for her wry sense of humor and neighborhood sitings walking her Boston Terrier. Marg loved playing golf and proudly supported the Kansas City Chiefs every weekend during football season. She spent the last three years as a resident at the Columbine Manor where she enjoyed her friendship with the staff and residents.
She is survived by her nephew Ed Norton of Emporia, Kansas; cousins Sharon Johnson of Denver; Garth (Norma) Conroe family in Salida. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jean Norton.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 9, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fairview Cemetery in La Junta with Pastor Ron Skorick officiating.
