Melvin R. Bud Bamber

Melvin “Bud” Richard Bamber, 88, of La Junta passed away July 12, 2013 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center.  He was born on Oct. 30, 1924 in Baca County, nine miles North of Pritchett, CO at a homestead, to Vital Benjamin & Nellie (Grover) Bamber.  He married Zola F. Ramey in Clayton, New Mexico on Nov. 16, 1948.
Bud served in the United States Army during World War II. He farmed and ranched his entire life. Bud will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Bud is survived by his wife of 64 years, Zola of the La Junta family home; sons, Jerry (Donna) Bamber of La Junta, Jay (Darina) Bamber of La Junta, and Rex (Brenda) Bamber of La Junta; daughter, Pam (Jim) Sisson of La Junta; brother, Vete Bamber , Jr. of Pueblo West, CO; sister, Ellen Hall of Pritchett, CO; grandchildren, Angela Bamber, Ashleigh (Erick) Arriola, Taylor Bamber, Griffin Bamber, Trevan Bamber, Rhiley (Levi) Ethridge, Braxton (Jana) Bamber, Rourke (Skye) Sisson, Ty Sisson, & Drew Sisson; eight great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Juanita Bamber of Lamar; and numerous nieces & nephews survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert “Bob” Bamber and Grover Bamber & his wife Lois, sister-in-law, Mary Ann Bamber, brother-in-law, Merle Hall.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home and Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.




          

Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at 9:00 a.m at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jeb Brown officiating.  A graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. at Springfield Cemetery in Springfield, Colorado.  Visitation will be Monday, July 15, 2013, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
