Michael D. Atz

Michael Dean Atz, 60, of Denver passed away on June 23, 2015 at the Denver Hospice Care Center.  He was born to Robert Atz & Evelyn Bonan in Denver, Colorado on February 28, 1955. He married Georgia I. Vela-Vasquez on November 12, 1977 in La Junta, Colorado.
 
He graduated Wheatridge high school in 1973. He received his Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and worked for Neoplan for 15 years, Nibco for 5 years, Colorado Rails for 5 years, BAE Sytems for 6 years. He was a man of strong faith. He loved to play guitar, he enjoyed church reading and wrote Christian music. He loved spending time with his family and will be deeply missed.
 
He is survived by his wife, Georgia of the Denver home; daughters, Dr. Mary (Ron) Atz-Ziegler of California; Stephanie Atz of Denver; son, David (Carla) Atz of Denver; mother, Evelyn Bonan of Wheatridge; brother, Fred (Susie) Bonan of Denver; grandchildren, Yvonne Ziegler and Morning Mist Atz. He was preceded in death by his father.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, June 26, 2015 at 10:00 a.m at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish with Father Matthew Wertin officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 25, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
