Michael Dean Casper, 61, passed this life on July 24, 2014 at his Rocky Ford home. He was born on November 7, 1952 in La Junta to Paul & Bonnie (Rooks) Casper.
Mike graduated from La Junta High School class of 1971. He was a professional painter for Blair Paint Service for several years and later employed by the Santa Fe Railroad, initially as an electrician extensionist, and later as a locomotive engineer.
Mike had an extreme interest for music and old cars and he was an accomplished guitar musician and vintage car collector. Mike’s collecting of guitars and classic cars became his ultimate passion.
Mike is survived by his son, Nickolas of Minneapolis, Minnesota; daughter, Jennifer Renee of Rochester, Minnesota; mother, Bonnie Casper of Swink; brothers, Paul (Becky) Casper and Kenneth (Chris) Casper both of Rocky Ford; sisters, Crystal (Don) Dutton of Kansas City, Missouri; Donna (Rich Bregar) Casper of Pueblo; numerous nieces and nephews and “car buddies’ from Garden City, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his father.
Those wishing to do so may make memorial contributions to the Sangre de Cristo Hospice, 1207 Pueblo Blvd. Way, Pueblo, CO, 81005 direct or through the funeral home.
Memorial service will be Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ed Kite officiating.
