Mike Joe Archuleta, 86, of La Junta, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Nursing Care Center. He was born to Antonio Avan & Cipriana (Vigil) Archuleta in Elk Creek, Colorado on December 23, 1926.
He is survived by his daughters, Dorothy (Jose) Rivera of Manzanola, CO & Alice (Richard) Archuleta-Navarro of Auberry, CA; son, Luther "Cheeta" Archuleta of Riverbank, CA; brothers, Albert Archuleta of Toledo, Oregon & Paul Archuleta of La Junta; sister, Rose Archuleta of Holly, CO; 12 grandchildren, Rose Mary, Monica, Yolanda, Josephine, Emillio, Meredith, Sonny, Joe Micky, Yvonne, Rose Marie, Samantha, & Becky Ann; numerous great-grandchildren and five great, great-grandchildren. Nephew, Gilbert Archuleta and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, son, Mike Joe Archuleta, brothers, Steve, Lee, Tony, & Louie Archuleta and sisters, Mary Whatley, Ida Sandoval, Mable Lovato & Alice Whatley.

Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home and Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of local arrangements.

Funeral service will be Saturday, October 5, 2013, at 10:00 a.m., at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Pastor Juan N. Medina, Sr. of Denver, CO officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, October 4, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
