Milton “Tony” Fosdick, 83, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2019 at his home east of Fowler, Colorado. Tony was born on August 8, 1936 to Henry and Melba (Tadlock) Fosdick in Fowler, the third of ten children. He graduated from Fowler High School in 1954.
After high school Tony joined the US Army and served a 2 year tour of duty in the states. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Fowler and continued to work on the family ranch for several years. He met and married his wife of more than 52 years and together they raised their four children.
Tony attended the Colorado State Patrol Academy and worked as a patrolman in Colorado Springs, but ultimately returned to farming and ranching ending up back in Fowler. He was a self-taught artist who loved western art and he painted beautiful oil paintings in addition to sculpting amazing bronze sculptures.
Tony is survived by his wife, Shirley, his four children, Sonja (Wayne) Shoemaker, Vicki (Kurt) Douglas, Steven (Rob) Wollert and Jimme Lyn (Ehrich) Diede; his ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great, great-grandchild; his siblings, Sam (Wanda) Fosdick, Jay (Linda) Fosdick, Emily (Buzz) Nesselhuff and Georgia (Kurt) Dunsmoor, and several brother and sister-in-law’s, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at the Fowler Senior Center at 1:00 p.m. with military honors by the Rocky Ford Rifle Team, American Legion Post #8.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fowler Historical Society and Museum, 114 N. Main St, Fowler, CO 81039 direct or through the funeral home.
