Nellie Morgan

Nellie Lorenzo Morgan 88, of Reno, Nevada, longtime resident of La Junta, CO passed away December 29, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Morgan and her son Dennis Morgan. She was born on February 27, 1925 in La Junta, CO. She worked for the OPA office during WWII and later for the Santa Fe Railroad.


She is survived by children Donna (Richard) Brenner of Reno Nevada, Debby (Rick) Castro of Cottonwood, AZ and Lena Morgan of Belen, NM. She has eight grandchildren and 11 great grand children and three living siblings, Lucy Rizzuto, Jo Koller and Jerry Lorenzo.

She loved to golf and bowl and was a member of Catholic Daughters.


In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the charity of your choice.

Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.


Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, Jan 7, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick’s Parish with Father Charles Sena of the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Lamar officiating. Visitation will be Monday, January 6, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel. Internment to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
