Nona M. Stephan

Nona Marie Stephan passed away February 5, 2014 in La Junta at age 83. She was the wife of the late Leonard Nelson Stephan and one of four children born to the late Ralph and Wilma Kerr.


She was born on July 5, 1930 in Valley Falls, KS. Nona married Leonard Stephan in 1947 and was a homemaker and mother of three daughters.


She was preceded in death by her parents (Ralph and Wilma Kerr), brother (Bill Kerr), daughter (Linda Goodwin) and husband (Leonard Stephan).


She is survived by her two daughters, Judy (Gordon) Ginther of Brush, CO and Lynn Gauna of La Junta, CO; six grandchildren, Kenneth (Kris) Baylor of Manzanola, CO; Jeffrey (Jan) Baylor of Las Animas, CO; Janelle Relerford of Sidney, NE; Kelly Taylor of Rocky Ford, CO; Rodney Ginther of Sidney, NE and Scott Milenski of Los Alamos, NM; fourteen great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.


There will be no services. The family asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Arkansas Valley Hospice.
