Opal A. Spangler

Opal Adaline (Bloomfield) Spangler, 103, departed this life Sept. 18, 2014. She was born Sept. 27, 1910, to Archie Cornelius and Lulu Wann (Sink) Bloomfield near Jennings, Oklahoma. She married Emmett Vernon Spangler Oct. 4, 1930, in Newkirk, Oklahoma. She is survived by her son, Terrence Dale Spangler, La Junta; brother, Kenneth Dale (Betty) Bloomfield, Cleveland, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Terri Dee Darnell, Edwin Vernon (Jolynn) Spangler, both of La Junta, and Jana Sue Hartless, Pueblo. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett, and daughter-in-law, Janice. Opal was a Christian and a member of the Christian Church in Geuda Springs, Kansas.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 22 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm at Peacock Memorial Chapel. Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, September 23 at Fairview Cemetery at 11:00am.
