Opal E. Wilson

Opal Elizabeth Wilson, 81, passed away Thursday, September 12, at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center. She was born in Garden City, Kansas, on May 19, 1932 to Gene Ralph and Helen Elizabeth (Dunham) Adams. She attended school and graduated from Garden City High School. She moved to La Junta when she married Kenneth (K.O.) Wilson on October 18, 1977.

Opal was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Preston & Clarence Adams and sister Esther Essary.

She is survived by her brother Vernon (Bonneta) Adams of Baxter Springs, Kansas and many nieces and nephews, and special friends Richard (Susan) Cox and Rose Ward.

She enjoyed sewing, painting, crossed word puzzles, reading and loved to sing gospel songs. She was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos, Denver Nuggets and Colorado Rockies she never missed watching a game when her team was playing. Her friends and family will miss her smile and infectious laughter.

At her request no services will be held as cremation has taken place and her ashes will be scattered at her favorite place in the mountains.
