Patricia Maxine Kesterson

Patricia Maxine Kesterson, 78, passed away on July 5, 2019 at her La Junta home. She was born on July 27, 1940 in Fowler, Colorado to Paul Floyd & Ellen (Davis) Huntley.

In her early years (1940-1950), she grew up on a ranch in White Rock, CO which is 20 miles south of Fowler. She attended school in White Rock grades 1-4, which was a one room school with 8 grades. Her family moved, in 1950 to the #6 District (Elder) 6 miles southeast of Fowler. She was baptized on May 6, 1951 at the First Christian Church in Fowler. During her teen years she attended the #6 District School. During that time she participated in 4H activities. She attended Fowler High School from 1954-1958, after graduating she attended Otero Junior College. She married Dale Kesterson on September 13, 1959 at the First Christian Church in Fowler.

Patricia lived in Henderson, CO; Cedaredge, CO; Las Animas; Fowler on the Huntley family farm which was southeast of Fowler. She worked for Grimsley-White in La Junta, the CO-OP and the Colorado Boys Ranch. She loved playing the steel guitar and played in the Huntley Family Band. She was well known for her talent playing the steel guitar with many bands for dances in the southeastern Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.

She is survived by her daughters, Lori Ellen Blasberg of La Junta; Shelly Jean (Paul) Presley of Pine, CO; brothers, Charles (Kaloma) Huntley of Log Lane Village, CO; and Frank (Deborah) Huntley of Lakewood, CO; grandsons, Curtis Victor (Kelsey) Blasberg of Greeley, CO; Ryan Paul Blasberg of Pueblo, CO; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins; and former husband, Dale Kesterson of Las Animas. She was preceded in death by her parents in 1983.

A memorial service will be on Friday, July 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Reverend Dr. MJ Romano of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Fowler Cemetery.
