Paul Eugene Feemster, 82, better known as Buddy, passed away on December 24, 2019 at his Kim home. He was born on December 7, 1937 at home in Vera, Texas to Ralph and Hazel Feemster. He lived there with his three sisters, Carlyn, Melva and Wynette until 1949.
Hazel remarried to Henry Ballard and moved Buddy, Melva & Wynette to Kim CO to run the local drug store. After a few years passed, Hazel took the kids back to Texas and Buddy moved in with his father. At the age of 15, he decided he was ready to be on his own. He took a bus to Springfield and hitchhiked back to Kim. He worked for ranchers to support himself while playing basketball and baseball and graduated as valedictorian in 1956. He attended Fort Collins A & M College on a Presidential scholarship, though after one semester, he decided to return to his real love, ranching.
In 1959, Buddy married Kay Kirkpatrick. Together, they built their dream and raised four children, Rocke, Ricke, Karen and Kathy. Buddy worked on his ranch, teaching his kids to work with cattle and horses. He did this to great success, winning Catttleman of the Year in 2009. In 2019, Kay & Buddy celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary and the family has grown to 29.
He is survived by his wife Kay, sons, Rocke (Theresa) Feemster of Kiowa, OK; Ricke (Kim) Feemster of Kim, CO; daughter, Karen (Bryan) Davis of Colorado City, CO and Kathy (John) Cranson of Kim; nine grandkids, Trevor (Randi) Feemster, Ashton (Austin) Sansing, Alexa (Garrett) Neuman, Elisa (Brian) Rogers, Michael (Stacy) Davis, Peyton Cranson, Kolter Cranson, Kennedy Cranson, and Jora Cranson; five great-grandkids, Damian Feemster, Jace Rogers, Jacklyn Rogers, Lucy Davis and Wyatt Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Hazel, his two sisters, Melva Drummond and Carlyn Proctor.
