Peggy Ann Hammel

September 6, 1937 — August 30, 2022

Peggy Ann Hammel, 84, passed away on August 30, 2022, at the Fowler Heath Care Center. She was born on September 6, 1937, in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado to Lee & Hazel (French) Kline.

She was best known as being a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was known for the love she showed to others and can be best described by the Bible verses in 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7 “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres.”

She graduated from Florence High School and met her husband, Roy, at a drug store in Florence, CO when they were both 19. They were married on March 16, 1957. She went on to love and raise four children. She and Roy lived in Penrose, CO where they raised their four children until the family moved to Fowler, CO in 1975.

She will remain in the hearts of everyone she loved, and the memories made with her will be treasured. She is now at peace and with the person she loved most of all, her lord and savior, Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Roy of the Fowler home; children, Wayne Roy (Lisa) Hammel of Fowler; June Renee (Randy) Baldwin of Elizabeth, CO; Norman Russell (Denise) Hammel of Waxahachie, TX; Edwina Ann (Joe) Johnson of Norfolk, VA; grandchildren, Andrew & Ryan Scott, Paige & Peyton Baldwin, Laura LaRue and Preston Hammel, Wyatt & Kendra Johnson; great-grandchildren, Emily, Cameron, Kaleb, Hailey, Brandon, Landon, and Jaxon; twin sister, Betty Finney; sisters, Marie Thyne and Lee Kline; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Leona Kline, Alice Benge, Raymond Kline, Eileen Foulke and Duane Kline.
