Ramon N. Gutierrez

Ramon N. Gutierrez, 98, of Kim, passed away August 8, 2014. He was born on May 24, 1916 in Officer, Colorado to Raymond & Mary Maude (Goodrich) Gutierrez.


Ramon was the second oldest of his siblings. He lived alone on the Gutierrez Ranch and had his own heard of cattle; which he took care. In his later years when he could no longer drive and needed help his cousin Eugene Eddy and his family moved him to La Junta with them and cared for him.


He is survived by his brother, Alvin (Barbara) Gutierrez of Kim; brother-in-law, Don Bergener of Boulder; and sister-in-law, Mary Gutierrez of Kim; and numerous nieces & nephews also survive. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond & Mary Maude Gutierrez; brothers Charles, Gavin, Ben, and Vernon Gutierrez; sisters, Marjorie Bergener & Evangeline Gutierrez.




Graveside services will be Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Higbee Cemetery with Ken West officiating.
