Ramona Mascarenas

Ramona Mascarenas, 90, of La Junta entered into rest on January 21, 2014 at the Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo. She was born on May 11, 1923 to Pedro & Josefina (Montoya) Sosa in Holly, Colorado.


Ramona enjoyed going to church and bible school and taking trips to Pueblo and going to Taco Bell. Ramona especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family & friends.


Ramona is survived by her children, George (Charlotte) Mascarenas of Lamar; Frank (Anita) Mascarenas, Jr. of Pasadena, TX; Jessie (Tina) Mascarenas of Rocky Ford; Mella (Manuel) Alaniz of Mercedes, TX; Martha Mascarenas of Hutchinson, KS; Lupe Mireles of Amarillo, TX; Mary Ellen (Joe) Kelker of Norman, OK; Josie (Matias) Diaz of Pasadena, TX; Irene (Chris) Schroeder of Jackson Hole, WY; Barbara (Ted) Guerra of La Junta; Pauline Peteque of Pueblo; Ruby (Danny) Ponce of Swink; also survived by her numerous grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and numerous great, great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Frank Lucero Mascarenas, Sr. on January 30, 1977, and her son, Paul Mascarenas on May 21, 2010.


Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home and Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.


Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 24, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Pastor Darryl Johnson of the West Assembly of God Church in Fowler officiating.
