Ray Goodrich Cheney, 70, passed away on October 4, 2017 at the Crowley County Nursing Center in Ordway. He was on born on August 26, 2017 in Coalville, Utah to Ralph R. & Candice (Orr) Cheney.
The family moved to La Junta in 1948 and Ray attended schools and graduated from La Junta high school. Shortly after graduation he enlisted into the United States Air Force. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he held numerous positions.
He is survived by his siblings, Evelyn Stoddard of Roy, Utah; Ralph, Jr. (Carroll) Chaney of Tacoma, Washington; Mary Miller of Liberal, Kansas; Glen (Margaret) Cheney of Kambulda, Australia; Lynn (Denise) Cheney of Alamagordo, New Mexico; and Cathy (Steve) Pratt of San Antonio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder-Day Saints in La Junta with Bishop Jared Efrid officiating.
The family would like to thank everyone at the Crowley County Nursing Home for their kind and loving care they gave to Ray.
