Redolfo "Rudy" Casias

Rudy Casias, 95, of Rocky Ford, passed away and joined his beloved wife, Eva Mae on July 18th. He passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, in the home he built with his own hands and where he raised his family. He was born June 7, 1923 in Koehler, New Mexico to Juan & Palmiria (Tafoya) Casias. He was raised and parented by his grandparents Monico & Victoria Tafoya.

An incredibly kind and generous man, Rudy was always there to offer help, or lend a skilled hand to any project or friend in need. A World War II veteran, Rudy was truly a hero, not only to his country, but to his community and family!

Rudy is survived by his children Linda (Mike) Fontanez of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Geraldine Casias of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Jerry Casias of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Rudy was also blessed with four wonderful grandchildren, Renee (Edward) Barry of Denver, Colorado; Eva Mae Fontanez of Alberquerque, New Mexico; Devanee (Travis) Ireland of Denver, Colorado; and Phillip Casias of Denver, Colorado. Great-grandchildren, Howard Barry; Eva Barry; and Emma Ireland. All will cherish the memories of Rudy. Rudy is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Gabe Casias; Lalo Casias; Charles Montoya; Daniel Montoya; Jose Montoya; and Manuel Montoya. Sisters, Jenny Saiz and Antoinette Maestas.

Celebration of Life for Rudy Casias will be held on Wednesday, July 25th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. both services will be held at St. Peters Church in Rocky Ford with Father Paul Ekeh officiating. Interment will follow service at Rocky Ford Cemetery. Please come and share your memories with Rudy's Familia.
