Reymundo Aguilar, 71 of La Junta passed away on June 13, 2019 at the Sangre de Cristo Hospice in Pueblo. He was born on January 23, 1948 to Enrique & Juana (Cordova) Aguilar in La Junta.
He retired from Ft. Lyon where he worked for many years. His hobbies were cruising, watching western movies, feeding the wild birds and cats. He enjoyed sitting on his porch in the evening. Spending time with his family and enjoyed family dinners. He always was willing to lend a helping hand and giving rides to those who were in need. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Alice of the La Junta home; children, Renae (Gina) Aguilar of La Junta; Angela (Pablo Pina) Aguilar of La Junta; Victor Aguilar of La Junta; Arlene
(Donald) Romero of Rocky Ford; Reymundo Aguilar, Jr. of Georgia; Christina (Dwayne) Romero of La Junta; 18 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Helen Kelly of Denver; Nicolas & (Evelyn) Aguilar of Leavenworth, KS; Natalia Lawson of Texas; Celestina Jaramillo of Denver; Carmen (Val) Candelaio of California; Juanita (Al) Baca of Colorado Springs; Margaret Madrid of Denver; Porfirio (Rosella) Aguilar of Kansas; honorary daughters, Marcella & Laura Pantoya and their children. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Teri Zamarron and Mary Alice Martinez; brother, Enrique Aguilar, Jr.; and best friend, George Pantoya.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Friday, June 21, 2019 at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. both services at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St Patrick Parish with Father Henry Wertin Officiating. Interment will follow at the Calvary Cemetery with military honors by the La Junta American Legion #9.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
In lieu of flowers those wishing to do so may make memorial contributions to the Sangre de Cristo Hospice direct or through the funeral home.
