Roger F. Florez, Sr.

Roger F. Florez, Sr., 63 passed away on December 21, 2014 at his La Junta home. He was born on March 19, 1951 to Joe & Lore (Stien) Florez.
 
He worked for Nibco for 19 years as a machine operator and worked at Otero Junior College in maintenance for 20 years until he retired in 2008.
 
He is survived by his loving wife, Victoria (Peteque) Florez, children, Shanna (Paul) Salazar, Jimmy Florez, Nancy (Albert) Rivera, Shelly (Devin) Martinez, Roger Florez, Jr., Bernadette Florez (Marc Madrid), and Kimberley Florez; grandchildren, Matt, Caitlin, Breanna, Nika, Samantha, John David, David Alexander, Christian, Dylan, Devin, Holly, Jesse, Alyssa, Mikayela, Devontae, Hailey, Jacob, Derik and Gabriel; brother, Gregorio Florez of Las Vegas, Nevada and sisters, Mary (Joe) Martinez of La Junta, Stella Otero of Pueblo and Gloria Rocha of Swink. He was proceeded in death by his parents, brother Tony Florez, brother in-law John Rocha and sister in-law Patricia Florez.
 

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. and funeral mass will follow at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish with Father Matthew Wertin officiating. Visitation will be Monday, December 29, 2014 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow services at Calvary Cemetery.
