Ruben Francisco Jimenez, 28, passed away on December 26, 2022, at his La Junta home. He was born in La Junta on November 9, 1994, to Ruben Jimenez Marquez and Frances Hernandez Ibarra.
Ruben was raised in Mexico until he was 11 years old and then moved to Rocky Ford where he made lifelong friends. Ruben attended Rocky Ford High School where he participated in cross country. Ruben moved to Mexico and learned to weld and worked as a welder in Mexico. After Ruben returned from Mexico, he worked various jobs including construction.
Ruben was a loving and caring young man. He always went above and beyond for his family. Ruben enjoyed listening to music and dancing. Ruben was an avid fan of soccer and loved watching the World Cup. Ruben loved to fish, play cards, pool, darts, cooking, playing his Xbox, working with his hands, and spending time with family and friends. Ruben loved spending time with his children more than anything. His children were his pride and joy. Life without Ruben is one we are unable to imagine, although the pain of missing him will always be a beautiful reminder of the best times we had loving him.
Ruben will be forever be remembered by his parents, Ruben Marquez Jimenez, Frances Ann (JoseLuis) Ibarra; children, Alondra Jimenez, Elyzabeth Jimenez, Santiago Robledo-Velazquez, Joseph Magdaleno, Analeia Jimenez, Zeymar Jimenez, Yadriel Jimenez, Ayden Morales, & Lennox Jimenez; siblings, Micahela (Sean) Thompson, Michael (Kim) Carrillo, Daniel Hernandez, & Lalo Hernandez; nieces and nephews, Rey Duran, Danilynn Duran, Jaxx Thompson, Alalea Gallegos, Noah Hernandez-Hernandez, Levi Hernadez-Anderson, Lilliana Hernandez-Anderson; along with several aunts, uncles and cousins. Ruben is now reunited in Heaven with his grandparents, Teresa Marquez Medina, Daniel Gonzalez Reyes, Daniel and Marsha Rodriguez, and brother Eddie Carrillo.
A service honoring Ruben will be held Thursday, January 5, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Pastor John Dell of the First Christian Church in Rocky Ford officiating.
