Ruby J. Turner

Ruby J. Turner, 90, of La Junta passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Nursing Care Center. She was born on June 2, 1921 in Tom, Oklahoma to Gordan & Ethel (Casey) Johnson. She married George W. Turner in 1937; he preceded her in death on January 12, 1965.Ruby & George lived in Arizona for a few years then Rocky Ford before moving to La Junta where George was a mechanic. Ruby worked at McKenzie Furniture Store in the retail sales. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.She is survived by her daughter, Patsy Butcher; grandchildren, Galen Barbee and family, Jackie Hall and family all of Washington; Dianna Irion and family of Texas; sister, Louise Snelson of La Junta; nieces, Linda (Frank) Garrett and family and Kathy (Gary) England and family.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.In lieu of flowers those wishing to do so may make memorial contributions to the First Christian Church, 5th & Santa Fe Avenue, La Junta, CO, 81050 direct or through the funeral home.

Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Rocky Ford Cemetery with Ron Skorick of the First Christian Church officiating.
