Rudy Salas

Rudy Salas, 67, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2015 at
his La Junta home surrounded by his family. He was born on August 7, 1948 to
Albert and Alice (Roybal) Salas. He married Diana Apodaca on April 6, 1968.
 
He graduated from Kim High School in 1966. Rudy owned and
operated several businesses including Ark Valley Carpet Pro. He also enjoyed
the time he spent farming and ranching for the last 40 years. Rudy was of the
Catholic faith and very devoted to God. Nearly every morning he would attend
church, he and his partners in faith would pray the rosary.
 
Rudy is survived by his wife, Diana of the family home, daughters,
Renea (Erik) Keahey, Michelle (Jim) Garner, Becky Salas (Jon Mc Call) and Stacy
Salas, all of La Junta; his father, Albert Salas of La Junta, sisters, Elaine
Salas of Canon City, CO and Veronica (Phil) Padilla of Tempe, AZ; grandchildren,
Kimberly (Matt) Favinger, Courtney Keahey, Luke and Thalia Garner, Monique
Martinez, and many loving nieces, cousins and extended family. He was preceded
in death by his mother, Alice Salas, grandparents, Ruben and Barbara Salas,
step­brother, Ralph Torrez, mother-in-law, Erma Nuanes and special aunt, Eva
Oxandaburu.
 
Those wishing to do so may make memorial contributions to the Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish Building Fund direct or through the funeral home.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Monday, December 14, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Matthew Wertin officiating. Interment will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in La Junta.
