Ruth Place

Ruth Place,95, of Rocky Ford passed away Friday, June 13, 2014 at the Pioneer Health Care Center.


Ruth was born on January 12, 1919 in Eads Colorado to Margaret and Philip Warner. She moved with the family to Hooker, OK as an infant. She graduated from the Hooker schools and attended Panhandle A and M College in Goodwell, OK.


She married Charles Place of Guymon OK on October 29, 1938. They resided in Guymon OK until his death. She then moved to Hooker Ok. For the last seventeen years she has resided in Rocky Ford.


She was preceded in death by her husband Charles in 1982, her son Douglas Place of Keller TX in 2008 and her sister Stella Mead in 2012. She is survived by her daughter, Charlene (Lyle) Forth of Oro Valley, AZ; grandchildren, Warner, James and Melissa Forth, Brandon and Jeremy Place; three great grandchildren; sister, Olive McAhren of Rocky Ford and neice Glenna Walter also of Rocky Ford.


A memorial service to be held at a later date.
