Stella Gonzales

Stella Gonzales,
87, of La Junta passed away on October 20, 2015 at the Sangre de Cristo Hospice
in Pueblo. She was born on October 9, 1928 in La Junta to Dennis & Deluvina
(Peteque) Whatley.
 
Stella
loved wearing stiletto heels well into her 70s, she enjoyed watching
professional wrestling, smoking cigarettes and spending time with family. One
of 12 children, Stella was a devoted mother who leaves behind 3 children and a
myriad of grand and great grandchildren whom she loved fiercely. She will be
missed, cherished and remembered eternally. She was preceded in death by her
parents, husband,
Manuel and son, Billy.

 

Recitation
of the Holy Rosary will be Friday, October 23, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. followed by the
Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 p.m. both services at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish
with Father Matthew Wertin officiating.  Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
