Stella Ruby Mead

Stella Ruby Mead, 99, passed away on September 3, 2012 at the Pioneer Health Care Center, Rocky Ford, Colorado.  Stella was born February 15, 1913 in Cheyenne, Wyoming.  

She was a lifetime member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.  The church commemorates her loving service and faithfulness with a beautiful stain glass window.  She was a member of the Royal Neighbors, Home Demonstration and Hospital Auxiliary.

Stella was proceeded in death by her husband, Ernest Mead, son, Gyrel Brisco, and daughter, Charlotte Polland.  She is survived by sons Larry Mead of Honolulu, Hawaii, Ross (Diana) Brisco of Stella, North Carolina, daughters, Glenna (Tom) Walter of Rocky Ford, Colorado, Sue Henry of Stanford, Colorado and Lesa (Joe) Puher of Montrose, Colorado.  She is also survived by two sisters, Olive McAhren and Ruth Place both of Rocky Ford, Colorado.  She was blessed with 65 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren plus numerous, cousins, nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.

Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.


A service  to celebrate her life will be Sunday, September 30, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Swink, Colorado.
