Steve "Bucky" Alan Grasmick

April 1, 1967 — January 19, 2012

Steven Alan “Bucky” Grasmick, 44, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer.  He was born on April 1, 1967 in La Junta and lived in Lakin, Kansas for the past 10 years. Steven was known to everyone as Bucky. He graduated from Swink High School Class of 1985. Bucky worked his whole life driving a truck, farming and custom harvesting. Bucky enjoyed working and spending time with his family and friends. He loved fishing, riding dirt bikes, and mostly just being with the ones he loved. He will be missed mostly for his sense of humor and caring attitude. Most of all he was a loyal and loving husband, father, son & brother. 

Bucky is survived by his loving wife, Marijka “Myke” and children Dalton, Steven “Tyler” and Bailey all of the family home; daughters from his former marriage, Kaitlyn & Makaila; grandson, Rylee all of Phoenix, AZ; parents, Richard (Helen) Grasmick of La Junta; siblings, Rick Grasmick of La Junta and his children, Melissa, Travis and Kamron; Stacy (Don) Oquist of Swink and their children, Aimee & Connor; Doug (Christy) Grasmick of Las Animas and their children Savannah & Chance; and Shaunna (Justin) Schrock of La Junta and their children, Kyle, Cody, & Sari; parents-in-law, John (Barbara) Jackson of Delta, CO; brothers & sisters-in-law, Cody Jackson of Nogales, AZ, Travis Jackson of Grand Junction, and Jolene Jackson of Florida and her children, James & Skylar; very special friends Justin (Becky) Marsh of Lakin, KS and their children, McKenzie, Austin, and Madison; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul & Catherine Grasmick and Bill & Buel Rough.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 23, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Valley Community Church in Rocky Ford with Pastor Kurt England officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, January 22, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
