Teddy Wauson

Teddy “Ted” Wauson, 62, of Ordway, passed away unexpectedly on July 1, 2021 at his home in Ordway with his wife by his side. He was born on Oct. 19, 1958 to Leroy & Faye (Maggert) Wauson in La Junta.

Ted graduated from La Junta High School in 1977. Following graduation Ted worked in customer service for many years. For the last ten years he worked for Med Transportation where he helped many people & made many friends.

On Dec. 18, 1996, Ted married his soulmate and lifelong partner Tamela “Tammy” Watkins. Together they raised four children and helped raise and love their six grandchildren. Ted loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed family outings to the mountains and many other site seeing areas.

Ted is survived by his wife, Tammy of the Ordway home; his father, Leroy Wauson of La Junta; children, Laurabelle Watkins of Pueblo, Anna (Travis) Schwindt of Rocky Ford, Katie (Jordan) York of Olney Springs, and Justin Wauson of La Junta; brother, Roy Wauson of La Junta; sister, Patsy Wauson of La Junta; grandchildren, Shelby Watkins of Las Animas, Ramona Garcia of La Junta, Laura Garcia of La Junta, Tristen Reeves of Rocky Ford, Cian - Joe Johnson of Rocky Ford, Jacycee York of Olney Springs, and a beautiful baby girl on the way; great-grandchildrenMaylea Beeler, Jaxton Ramos, Jazmyne Giannomi, Braydon Ramos, and two beautiful girls on the way; niece Kristi Wauson; nephews, Robert Penrod and Jason Wauson; and many, many good friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Faye Wauson.

A funeral service will be Thursday, July 8, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Reverend Matt Witt of the Calvary Church officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in La Junta.
