Theo Kelley

Theo Kelley, 97, passed away September 17, 2017 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Nursing Care Center. She was born to Bernard & Bertha (Means) Tefertiller in Lamar, CO. She married W.D. Kelley on October 4, 1941 in Boise City, Oklahoma; he preceded her in death.

Theo attended school in a one room school house in the Sand Creek District. She graduated from Lamar Union High School in 1938. Theo was a clerk at the JC Penney, retiring in 1984. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, and quilting. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Quentin (Donna) Kelley of Twin Falls, Idaho; daughter, Sara Kelley of La Junta; son, Blaine (Alice) Kelley; grandchildren, Dallas Kelley, Shawn Kelley, Carole Sutton, Travis Fulton, and Jonathan Fulton; great-grandchildren & great, great-grandchildren, Zack Kelley, Kristi Hegerhorst, Ivan Kelley, Drew Kelley, Nathaniel Fulton, Ashley Shea-Sutton, Brittany Shea, Camryn Sutton, David Sutton, Corey Lake, Tyler Fulton, Hannah Kelley, Ruby Kelley and Madison Radman; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Theo was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter, Barbara Jean, six brothers & sisters, Faye, Blaine, Edwin, Jessie, Ellnora, and Marie. Best friend Jean Eveatt and many numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral service will be Friday, September 22, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Evangelist Terry Smalling of the La Junta Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, September 21, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice direct or through the funeral home.
