Theresa Jiron, 68, of La Junta passed away on October 27, 2022, at the Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs. She was born in La Junta to Jesus & Mary (DeHerrera) Jiron.
Theresa was full of life, always happy go lucky and energetic. There was never a dull moment when she was around. She was always making you laugh. She was a hard worker and was always doing something. She loved to cook, clean, and fix things around the house. She crocheted doilies in her free time and enjoyed tending to her plants. She was kind, loving and giving. She always helped others and never wanted anything in return. She was very strong willed and stubborn at times.
Theresa was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be missed dearly. We can shed tears that she is gone, or we can smile because she has lived. May she rest in peace. Always remembered and never forgotten.
She is survived by her husband, Julio Vasquez of the La Junta home; children, Tracy Madrid of Swink; Stacey Mondragon of La Junta; Michael Mondragon of Swink; Ruth Ann Mondragon of Las Animas and Laura Vasquez of La Junta; 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; siblings, David (Vicky) Jiron, Roger (Patsy) Jiron, Pauline (Ben) Romero, Lorraine (Pedro) Vasquez, Anthony Jiron; half-sister, Gloria (Augustine) Franco; numerous nieces & nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral service will be November 3, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the Upper Room Fellowship with Pastor Paul Simon officiating. Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in La Junta.
