Tillie Autry, 100, of La Junta, passed away on June 18, 2013 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center. Tillie was born on July 13, 1912 in La Junta, Colorado to Plato M. & Mary Ann (Richards) Ballou. She married Joe H. Autry on November 12, 1930 at the United Methodist Church in La Junta; he preceded her in death on October 6, 1986.

Tillie was raised on the Red Rock Cattle Ranch on Chiquaqua Creek 50 miles from La Junta. She attended grade school on the ranch and High School at the St. Scholastica Academy in Canon City. Tillie & Joe owned a ranch on Salt Creek where they farmed and ranched. She belonged to the Higbee Club, Timpas Club, South La Junta H.E. Club, Ace of Spaces, Kids Rodeo, Farm Bureau, 4-H Foundation, Republican Women, Otero Historical Society, Colorado Cowbells, Southeast Cowbells, Arkansas Valley Cowbells, Otero Museum Association, Rebekoh Lodge, and a member of the United Methodist Church and she was a 4-H Leader for 18 years.

Tillie is survived by her children, Mary Lou (Russell) Karney of La Junta; Charles Joseph Autry of La Junta; Osa Marie (Don) Amend of Pueblo; Betty Ann Daniell of Monroe, Georgia; Wanda Lupe (Bill) Little of Dupont, Colorado; Bertha Lee (Norman) Bruce of Bellavista, Arkansas; Jake B. (Debbie) Autry of Peyton, Colorado; 25 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren, and 19 great, great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson, Ross Turner; son-in-law, Coleman Daniell; sisters, Alma Marrow and Cleo Denton.

Funeral service will be Saturday, June 29, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church of La Junta with Reverend Terilynn Russ officiating. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday at the Higbee Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, June 28, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
