Vada Ferne Egli

Vada Ferne Egli, 81, passed away October 28, 2015 at her La
Junta home. She was born on March 8, 1934 in Comin, Oscoda County, Michigan to
Harry & Geneva (Kaufman) Kauffman. 
 
She grew up on the family dairy farm, helping with the cows
in the mornings. After high school she attended Goshen College (Goshen,
Indiana) and then went on to The La Junta Mennonite School of Nursing,
graduating on March 25, 1956. She was an RN in Voluntary Service in Sturgis, MI
when she meet Roger Egli and they married on April 3, 1960. They lived in
various areas of the country through their married life including Pennsylvania
and Michigan. After tiring of the cold winters they moved their family to sunny
Colorado. She continued to work as an RN, mostly at nursing homes, throughout
her working career.
 
She was a fulltime mother and enjoyed cooking, baking and
making birthday cakes for the kids and going camping as a family. She also
enjoyed sewing for herself and family and helped with quilts at the church
sewing group. After she retired she and her husband traveled extensively with
their camper trailer and then various RVs.
  
She is survived by her husband, Roger L. Egli; son, Richard
R; daughters, Laura L., Sara S, Kathy K; grandchild, Kyle; brothers, Okie and
Thomas; and sisters, Regina, Loretta, Elsie, and Delta. She was preceded in
death by her parents, son, Timothy T., and her brothers, Wayne, Dennis, and
Arlen.
  

As per Vada’s request cremation has taken place and no services at this time.
