Vernie Mae Ellis

April 30, 1939 — November 19, 2023

Vernie Mae (Wilson) Ellis born April 30, 1939 at Hartville, Missouri to Clifton Claud Wilson and Anna Elberta (Woody) Wilson. Vernie was the eldest of the nine children. She attended grade school in Hartville, Missouri and graduated from high school at Altamont, Kansas.


Vernie and Irvin Lou Ellis were married at Parsons, Kansas on December 24, 1961. They were blessed with two children; Connie Sue (Ellis) Koeller and husband Glen Koeller of Lamar, Colorado; Ronald Lou Ellis and his children Melanie Mae (Ellis) Achenbach her husband Marcel and Jennifer Lynn Ellis of Germany, Amber Lynn Cole and her husband Chris Cole of Las Vegas, Nevada; Melissa Lee Barris of Las Vegas. Nevada. Great-granddaughters, Amina Corrine and Amilia Mae Cole of Las Vegas, Nevada and John Lou Achenbach of Germany. Vernie was an excellent wife, a loving mother and a friend to all who knew her.


She left us on November 19, 2023. There will be a funeral service at the Full Gospel Church in Rocky Ford, Colorado on December 2, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Tom Thomas officiating. Burial on the Dec. 3, 2023 in Richfield, KS.


Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
